Set high in the forested hills of Chiba, Japan, the MAGARIGAWA CLUB is designed as a retreat for motorsport enthusiasts. Anchoring a 2.2-mile private circuit, the Clubhouse reimagines the traditional race facility as a resort-style destination. Inspired by the refined minimalism of Japanese design, the space unfolds in layers of timber, stone, and soft light, framing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and track. Every detail is considered, not only for the driver, but for the community that comes with them.

At the heart of Magarigawa’s private racetrack lies the 18-bay pit lane, designed to merge your garage with a lounge space, where performance and pause coexist. Seating lines the bays, allowing members to hang out right beside their vehicles. We wanted the space to feel like an extension of your supercar, equipped with state-of-the-art tech, authentic finishes, and ergonomic seating. A place where you can host friends, spend time with family, and connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for the track. 

Shoji screens play a central role in shaping the clubhouse experience. Rather than serving as fixed dividers, they offer a flexible way to define space, softening light, creating privacy, and guiding movement without disrupting visual continuity. Custom-built for the project, the screens are crafted from natural timber and layered paper, allowing them to subtly shift the atmosphere throughout the day. Their presence reinforces the connection to traditional Japanese interiors, while serving a distinctly modern function within the architecture.

The clubhouse offers a full range of amenities for members and their guests. These include an outdoor infinity pool, a wellness centre with onsen, restaurant, kids’ club, wine and cigar bar, and multiple dining and lounge areas. Members also have access to 18 private villas, each with panoramic track views and direct connections to clubhouse facilities. The overall experience is designed to be immersive and complete, a destination for drivers and their families alike.
