Ammo is housed on the site of the former ammunition storage site built by the British in the mid-19th century. Inspiration for the dramatic interior was drawn from Jean-Luc Goddard’s film noire, Alphaville. Bespoke copper chandeliers and a glowing back bar display make for a cinematic venue with a surreal edge.
A triptych of chandeliers pays tribute to deconstructing components of a staircase; composed of off-the-shelf plumbing parts gives the space an explosive energy.
“I like to approach designing an interior a bit like how a director makes a film. Every detail is thought through in how it fits together to create an atmosphere.”
